A CRPD helicopter spotted a car speeding on I-380, and asked officers on the ground to try and stop it. The driver, Lynne Delane Simpson, reportedly failed to stop and led officers on a 40-minute high-speed chase into Iowa County. Simpson lost control of the van, which rolled into a farm field. Simpson was thrown from the van and died at the scene.
