About 8:30 p.m., a West Manchester Township officer and a Northern York County Regional officer responded to a motel after learning that Logan Montgomery, who was a suspect in a retail theft from earlier that day, was staying there. Officers found Montgomery in the hallway, and he allegedly pulled a gun and shot it. The West Manchester Township officer shot and killed him.
