Linda Cooks reportedly became short of breath after police ran into her son's apartment with their guns drawn. Cooks died at a hospital later that night. According to police, the officers were in the Tommie Rose Gardens Apartments at about 8 p.m., looking for two men suspected of firing gunshots in the area. Her family said police interrupted their get-together, creating a fearful situation that led Cooks to panic and ultimately caused her death.
