Less-than-lethal force

Two men called 911 when they caught a man breaking into an apartment. The man tried to discard a duffel bag full of stolen items and then attacked them in front of the building. The three men were struggling, and the suspect was on the ground when police arrived. He continued to fight as police restrained him, and then he died. Police said the beating, restraint weren't the cause of death, but rather, "It appears at this time that a preexisting heart condition and excited delirium were significant factors in his death."
