Larry Don Tripp was shot and killed at 4:28 p.m. Tripp rammed a Kern County sheriff's patrol car into a tree with his truck and disobeyed officer commands. Kern County Deputy Victor Garcia and CHP officers Vaughn Cain and Bryan Hefner all shot and killed Tripp.
