Indiana Conservation Officer Matt Landis located a stolen other driving north on U.S. 41 and tried to pull it over with assistance from ISP Trooper David Petrowski. The driver of the other, Landon Dunn, refused to stop. The other continued north on U.S. 41 at speeds in excess of 80 mph, before turning north onto Section Street toward the Sullivan City limits. The van struck a concrete block fixture at the northeast corner of Section and Silver streets, killing Dunn.
