Khaled Ayman Jamil Yasin, 27, was a Palestinian civilian from Gaza City, killed on August 7, 2022, when Israeli warplanes launched a missile strike targeting a horse cart at al-Samer Intersection. He was one of four civilians killed just hours before a ceasefire was announced.
Khaled Ayman Jamil Yasin, aged 27, was a resident of central Gaza City. He was not affiliated with any militant group and is recognized as a civilian victim. On August 7, 2022, during the final hours of a three-day Israeli military offensive on the Gaza Strip, Khaled was with another civilian, Shadi ‘Emad Nemer Kuhail (also 27), traveling in a horse-drawn cart through al-Samer Intersection, a busy civilian area.
At that time, Israeli forces launched an airstrike directly targeting the cart. The missile killed both men instantly and injured several others nearby. Khaled’s death came during a period of intense aerial bombardment by Israeli forces that struck civilian infrastructure, homes, and streets across Gaza. These attacks, occurring shortly before a declared ceasefire, took the lives of numerous non-combatants and added to the toll of destruction in densely populated areas.
His death drew local mourning and added to the grief that hung over Gaza as the community prepared for a fragile and temporary halt
