Police went to a home for a welfare check regarding Kevin Simmons, who was suspected of having consumed a large amount of drugs. When the officers arrived at the home, they encountered Simmons, who they said threatened them with a handgun and discharged pepper spray inside of the home. After a standoff, Simmons reportedly shot and killed himself.
