Suicide
Police responded after they received reports of a man with a gun at around 5:45 p.m. Police officers arrived, and gunshots were fired. A Brockton police officer reportedly was struck several times. The gunman then went into the home, where he remained holed up for several hours as police tried to negotiate. The gunman was apparently outside the home at about 9:30 p.m. when he shot and killed himself.
