Deadly force

About 5:15 a.m., a male and female officer were called to Al Basha for a burglary in progress. Kennith Hooker reportedly had broken out a window and was inside trying to pry open a lock box with a screwdriver. Police said he ran toward the officers with the screwdriver, and they shot and killed him. The only escape route was blocked by officers when he ran toward them and that he was likely trying to flee by foot when he advanced on them.
