Police received a call concerning an individual acting strangely with a gun. An officer responded to the scene about 3 p.m. and found Keith Dutree Collins. When the officer approached Collins, he ran. During the chase, Collins pulled out a weapon, and Officer W.B. Tapscott shot Collins 11 times, killing him. Collins handgun turned out to be a BB gun. Tapscott was cleared of any wrongdoing.
