Around 2:47 p.m., deputies were called for a possible shooting. When they arrived, they found a person suffering from a major injury gunshot wound. Deputies also encountered Justin Esqueda with a rifle, and exchanged gunfire with him. Esqueda was killed during a subsequent running gunbattle.
