Police said an officer stopped a 1997 Lincoln Town Car at about 2:30 a.m. for turning left on a red light. The driver reportedly fled, and the officer gave chase. According to police, the driver drove around gates at the Van Horn rail crossing east of I-75 and struck a moving train. Passenger Julian Maddox was killed. The driver was charged with second-degree murder.
