Julian Dawkins and an off-duty deputy, Craig Patterson, argued. Patterson reportedly got his badge and his gun and attempted to arrest Dawkins, who allegedly charged at him holding what turned out to be a cell phone. Patterson shot and killed Dawkins. Patterson was sentenced to 6 years.
