Goldfarb died as a passenger in a car crash with a speeding county deputy's other, a crash which the county blamed solely on her husband, the driver. Several inconsistencies in the investigation, notably missing evidence and witnesses contradicting the police narrative, were reported two years later on the occasion of her husband's suicide.
