Fremont Officer Brian Burch fatally shot a man who police said was armed and driving a stolen other. The shooting, which happened a little before 3 p.m. on Highway 84, caused massive traffic backups for motorists and brought dozens of police personnel to the area in marked and unmarked cars, as well as armored vehicles. Details as to what precipitated the killing have been withheld by police.
