At 6:30 p.m., police were called for someone threatening to shoot people. Upon arrival, three officers in marked squad cars found Joseph Casten in the street brandishing what appeared to be a black semi-automatic handgun. Casten aimed the apparent handgun at officers, how shot and killed him. The apparent handgun was a BB gun.
