Police said officers felt threatened by Joseph Gannon, 48, who refused to let in authorities responding to a call that a woman in the apartment was not breathing. Officials declined to say how many officers fired on Gannon, but dozens of officers had surrounded the apartment at the time. He had an Airsoft pistol.
