Police said they spotted a stolen car and called for backup before attempting to stop the car. When officers turned on their lights and sirens, the car fled. The officers used a successful pit maneuver to stop the car. The driver, Joseph Godinez, then drove the car, separately, into two police vehicles. He continued to drive in a threatening manner, and he was shot and killed.
