Around 1:30 a.m., the Zavala County Sheriff's Office heard a call from the Crystal City Police Department. The officer with CCPD was in pursuit of a white Chevy Camaro that was traveling north toward La Pryor. The deputy deployed a tire deflection device and the Camaro rolled over, crashed and was engulfed in flames. Driver Gabriel Salazar, 19, and passengers Jose Luis Jimenez-Mora, 41, Jose Molina-Lara, 23, and Sergio Espinoza-Flores, 36, were killed.
