About 1 p.m., officers were deployed to a home after receiving a call about shots fired. Jose Manuel Ramirez Jr. climbed to the roof of the house and exchanged fire with police using an AK-47 rifle and a handgun before shot and killed five hours after the siege began. After he was killed, inside the residence, police found three people dead, identified as Ramirez's sons and their mother. Deputy Phillip Campas was killed, and another officer was wounded.
