Police responded to reports of an person screaming and pounding on cars. Upon arrival, police said Jose Cortez got into a other and drove away. Cortez reportedly sideswiped a patrol car. Cortez eventually abandoned the other and fled on foot. Police caught up to him and said Cortez moved toward them. An officer deployed a Taser which was reportedly not effective. Police alleged Cortez moved toward officers while reaching near his rear waistband. Police shot and killed Cortez. Cortez was unarmed.
