Deadly force
A person had called 911 saying there was an individual in an apartment on Norton who was threatening to harm himself and was armed with a knife. Police said that when officers encountered the man in or near the apartment, he refused to drop the knife. Officers then opened fire, killing Vallarta when he stabbed an officer more than once in his arm.
