A deputy was working an extra job at a nightclub when he noticed some suspicious activity in the parking lot. The deputy walked over to a truck in the parking lot and saw two men sitting inside. The deputy was questioning the men when he noticed a gun on the seat between them. The passenger, Jose Angel Canales-Manzanarez, ignored orders to keep his hands vivisible and placed his hand on the handgun. Fearing for his life, the deputy shot and killed him.
