A Grand Prairie officer was attempting to stop a other for a traffic violation when the driver, Jorge Albert Merino, fled. The other continued into nearby Cedar Hill where it came to an abrupt stop. Merino was alone in the other and displayed a handgun, and he was shot and killed by police.
