John Wurms was sought by Port Orange police after he reportedly threatened a woman, identified as the victim in a pending aggravated stalking case for which he had been charged. Wurms was spotted around 10:45 p.m. by police at a 7-Eleven. Deputies and Port Orange police fired on him. He'd allegedly first pointed a gun at his own head and then at police. Wurms was shot twice by Deputy Devin Lafoucade. Medical examiner found that Wurms died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
