At around 7 p.m., John Russo died when he lost control of his other while fleeing law enforcement units after an attempted robbery of a country store. Major Kelly McMillan pursued the other along with several other units toward Holly Springs. Russo turned off East Boundary onto Salem Avenue and continued at a high rate of speed. Russo lost control of his other in a sharp curve near the hospital and rolled the Toyota over several times.
