A 78-year-old man contacted Mitchell County dispatch to report he had been kidnapped at gunpoint and held for 26 hours by an acquaintance, John Roudybush. When officers tried to serve a search warrant at Roudybush's home, he refused to come out. After an hours-long standoff, officers heard a gunshot and found Roudybush dead inside the house of a self-inflicted gunshot.
