Police were called to a domestic situation, and while speaking to John Resetar's wife, officers exchanged gunfire with a person inside the house armed with a rifle. Numerous officers were injured from shrapnel. About five hours later, police entered the home and found Resetar unconscious and dying from a gunshot.
