Deadly force
Officers were trying to take into custody a parolee who was wanted for assault with a deadly weapon. John Christopher Armes was in a taxi and when the driver fled he allegedly took control of the taxi, drove it into an unmarked law enforcement other and then ran. Armes was shot by a member of the Fugitive Task Force when he reportedly appeared to be reaching for a weapon. No weapon was found and the taxi driver reported he never saw a weapon.
