Joe Ruelas was wanted for Aggravated Assault when officers tried to arrest him at around 5:20 p.m. He fled while holding a handgun. Police sicced a dog on Ruelas, but Ruelas shot and killed the animal. Two officers shot at Ruelas, who ran out of sight. Ruelas was later found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot.
