According to Capt. Stryde Jones of the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office, the officer involved shooting came after the Hahira Police Department reported an armed robbery at Harvey's grocery store in Hahira and authorities began searching for the suspect. There were no injuries at the time of the armed robbery. The search led to an encounter with an armed suspect at the Pilot station, where Redmond was shot and killed and his female accomplice was arrested.
