Lockhart police were called to assist Caldwell County deputies looking for a person involved in a burglary. A deputy on the scene was flagged down by the initial complainant who had located Jesus Juarez near the Dairy Queen directly behind the burglary victim's home. The Caldwell County Sheriff's Office said the deputy told other officers Juarez had armed himself with a weed cutter. He was shot and killed as he advanced upon the officer.
