At Rest

Suicide
Two officers responded to a domestic violence situation after Russo's wife called and reported she had been in a fight with her husband. As soon as police arrived, they started taking gunfire from in the house. Alvarado described the weapon as an AR-15-style rifle. One of the officers returned fire and took cover. Russo's wife, along with her 10-year-old daughter and 15-year-old son, who were also home at the time, made it out safely. Troopers used an explosive to blow out the front door and sent a robot in. They found Russo in a closet, dead of a self-inflicted gunshot.
