DeLong was walking across Coastal Highway from east to west and was in the north crosswalk against the pedestrian signal when he was struck and killed, police said. The driver of the other was Ocean City Officer Xeniya Patterson, a five-year veteran officer who was on duty and traveling southbound on Coastal Highway while on routine patrol.
