Stephens was killed when police were responding to a 911 call about a fight with "weapons involved" at a Celina Avenue home. The call was made by Stephens' wife, Seata. Police said they shot Stephens after he reached for a gun in the waistband of his shorts and refused repeated commands to hit the ground.
