Deadly force
Around 4:25 p.m., Huntsville police were called by Jeffery Louis Parker, who said he was suicidal and had a gun. When police arrived, they saw Parker holding the gun. Police said officers briefly talked with Parker and commanded him to drop the gun. He allegedly did not, and he was shot and killed. Huntsville police Officer William Ben Darby was convicted of murder for shooting and killing Parker.
