Less-than-lethal force
According to police, Jason Nichols' uncle, called to say that his nephew was "drunk and fighting with him" at a house. When police arrived, Nichols would not comply with their commands to settle down. They used pepper spray and a Taser with no effect. Police restrained his arms and legs with "maximum restraint devices." An officer, rather than EMSA, drove him to OU Medical Center for evaluation. About five minutes after arriving at the hospital, Nichols died.
