Shortly before 1 a.m., an officer tried to stop a other without license plates. The driver, Darnell Browder, reportedly pulled into a Hy-Vee parking lot, but then sped away from the officer. Browder crashed into an oncoming other driven by Jason Hunt less than a minute later. Hunt was killed and a passenger in Hunt's other was injured. Browder, 34, and his passenger were also injured. Browder pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide while intoxicated and causing serious injury while driving intoxicated.
