According to police, Jan Dennis "J.D." Perry was suspected of trying to steal a TV from the Hurricane Walmart. Police saw Perry driving a Chevrolet Malibu around 11:30 a.m. and pursued him onto I-64. The chase reportedly reached speeds of 100 mph before Perry's car turned sideways and hit the back of a parked tractor-trailer as he apparently tried to enter a rest stop, killing him.
