Deadly force

Burnsville Police Department responded to a call about a suicidal man at an apartment complex. Officers were told that the man had threatened suicide, and had left the apartment complex with a gun. Police began searching the area and a state patrol helicopter was called in for the search. Heat sensors from the helicopter identified an individual in a tree line near the apartment complex. Officers approached the individual and saw he carrying a firearm. Sgt. Steven Stoler then shot and killed the man.
