Deadly force

Morris armed himself with a semiautomatic pistol after a breakup with his significant other. She called police, saying that he was threatening himself and would shoot police if they responded. A responding officer found Morris walking away from his house in the vicinity of an elementary school. He tried to stop Morris. Morris pointed his gun at the officer, who fatally shot him. Morris died at a hospital.
