Suicide
Investigators concluded that James P. "Jamie" Lynn intentionally drove his Oldsmobile station wagon into a bridge pillar while fleeing from a deputy. According to police, Lynn drove straight into the pillar at about 5:30 p.m. while driving approximately 100 mph on I-70 at the Niles Road interchange. Lynn died at the scene. Police said that Lynn left letters for relatives and appeared to have been despondent about family problems.
This record exists so that James “Jamie” P. Lynn, and all who are named in this archive, are never reduced to a number.
