Officer John Pickens shot and killed James E. McNeal Jr. after a police chase that began in Kansas City, MO and ended in Kansas City, KS. Shortly before 2 a.m., Pickens and officer Chris Praschak attempted to stop a Ford Explorer. A chase ensued until the SUV's three occupants jumped from the other near Parker School. Police said McNeal began struggling with Pickens, who then shot him.
