James E. Bayne allegedly shot and killed Ashley N. Bayne, 31, outside Craig-Botetourt Electric Cooperative at 8:09 a.m. Bayne drove off in a black Dodge Charger, which was spotted about 30 minutes later on U.S. 220 in Botetourt County by a deputy who tried to stop it, but Bayne fled. The car finally stopped, and deputies found Bayne with a fatal self-inflicted gunshot wound.
