About 11 p.m., an officer with the Berkeley Police Department reportedly saw a other parked in an alley behind a retail plaza. It wasn't immediately clear what type of other it was, but its lights reportedly were off and no license plate was visible. The officer tried to stop it, but the driver fled at high speed. At the intersection of Bohlander and Taft avenues, the driver failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit by a semi trailer, killing four: Tekiera Heron, 15, Orkitt "Bookem" Gresham, 18, Tamiyah L. Marshall, 18, and Jacquez Barber, 19.
