Ira Vaughn's 2001 Dodge pickup truck was struck by Officer Brandon Alford, who was escorting a funeral procession in a marked cruiser. Vaughn reportedly entered Louisiana 16 from a private drive without yielding. Vaughn was ejected from his truck. He was taken to North Oaks Medical Center where he later died.
