Homer Woodroe Tyler was reported to be armed with a firearm and driving a pickup en route to a family member's home. He was stopped by officers from Silsbee police and the sheriff's office around 3 a.m. He allegedly got out of his other and threatened officers with a handgun. One Silsbee officer and one deputy shot and killed him.
