Cause of Death: Shot directly in the head by an Islamic Republic sniper. Was with his family at protests, lit a cardboard on fire to reduce the effect of tear gas so people could escape, when Islamic Republic snipers targeted him with a laser in front of his brother and sister. Family was threatened not to have any social media activity and could not hold any ceremonies for him.

Cause of Death: From Khormoj, shot in the throat during protests in Bushehr. Body was found in hospital two days after death. Buried four days later with only parents present under heavy security surveillance.

Cause of Death: Son of Shapour Shirazi, resident of Anjamabad village in Shahriar. Longtime supporter of Taj Football Club and fan leader. Shot with two Kalashnikov bullets by Basij forces in abdomen and right leg during protests in Phase 1 of Andisheh around 9:00 PM on January 8. Arrested by Basij and IRGC forces and held for 12 days in IRGC detention without medical care. Died on the twelfth day of detention due to severity of injuries. Body showed severe signs of beating, bruising, and torture, especially to head and face – face was unrecognizable. Family forced to pay 600 million tomans to receive body. Buried on February 2 in cemetery of Anjamabad village, Shahriar.

Cause of Death: Shot directly by government forces’ bullets in Rasht city. Originally from Fouman county. Was a childhood friend of Mehran Basir Tavana who was killed in the 2022-2023 protests and never forgot his grief over losing Mehran. Was arrested for 15 days after chanting against government suppression and violence at Mehran’s 40-day memorial ceremony. Was a football enthusiast and leader of Fouman football team, worked at a hookah lounge. Family was pressured after his death – body was buried at night in complete silence with only mother, sister and brother allowed to attend. Even hanging a black flag on their house door was prohibited. Family had to pay bail to receive his body and now remain silent due to fear of further pressure. Buried at Imamzadeh Mirza in Fouman near his family’s residence.

Cause of Death: Kurdish young man killed by direct shooting from Islamic Republic suppression forces during popular protests in Elahieh neighborhood on Shahed Boulevard in Kermanshah. Part of mass killing in Elahieh district where at least 15 people were killed and dozens injured when targeted by gunfire from suppression and military forces of Sepahe Nabi-Akram (Prophet’s Guard Corps).

Cause of Death: 31-year-old dentist shot during protests after intervening to protect another individual being assaulted by security forces. Shot from two directions – one bullet from behind and another from the front. Taken to private hospital where he fell into a coma and died. Adherent of the Yarsani faith. Authorities pressured family to pay one billion tomans or identify him as Basij member to release body; family was compelled to accept regime supporter designation due to inability to pay.

Cause of Death: 17-year-old boxing athlete killed in Chalous. According to relatives: ‘One person was shot, he went to help rescue them, they shot Amir too. They took him to the hospital, after surgery we lost him, he had a lot of bleeding unfortunately, the bullet entered from one side of his waist and exited from the other side’

Cause of Death: Killed at Seyyed Heshmat and Shahrestani intersection, mostly with heavy machine gun (doshka). Part of 61 people killed in one incident over two days.
