Cause of Death: Shot directly with war bullets by suppressive forces during protests

Cause of Death: Engineer at Arak Refinery who disappeared on January 8, 2026 during protests on Shariati Street in Arak. His family had no information about his whereabouts for 6 days until his lifeless body was handed over to them at the Arak morgue on January 14, 2026. Authorities provided no clear explanation regarding the circumstances of his death or whether he had been detained prior to his killing.

Cause of Death: Killed in Fardis. Born in Rezvanshahr and buried there. Family was pressured to falsely register his death as a killed Basiji member, but he was actually a protester.

Cause of Death: 24-year-old Lor citizen from Lendeh city in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province, shot directly by suppressive forces during Friday evening protests in Bushehr. Government institutions extorted 450 million tomans from his family in exchange for delivering his body and pressured them to cover up the government killing of their son and blame protesters for his death.

Cause of Death: Shot with direct gunfire by government forces during popular protests in Neyshabur. He had recently gotten married. Security forces pressured his family to hold the burial ceremony in silence without public attendance.

Cause of Death: 17-year-old from Sari city who was killed during popular protests around 10:30 PM in one of the city’s streets by direct shooting from government forces with war bullets. His body was returned to his family after one week. He was only a few weeks away from turning 18.

Cause of Death: Killed by direct gunfire from government suppressive forces during popular protests in Isfahan

Cause of Death: 59-year-old war veteran, married with two children, resident of Nazarabad, Karaj. Shot with pellet bullets by Islamic Republic forces at close range in Hashtgerd, Karaj on January 9, 2026. He was hit in the head, face, heart and lungs. He was severely injured and remained in a coma in hospital for one week before dying on Friday, January 16, 2026. His body was only handed over to family after intimidation and threats, with conditions that burial be done in secret and no memorial ceremonies or gatherings be held.

Cause of Death: 39-year-old Kurdish citizen from Haji Abad village in Tuyserkan, Hamedan province, resident of Shahriar Tehran, killed during popular protests by direct shooting from government forces, with a war bullet hitting his neck area. He was the father of a young child.

Cause of Death: Shot in the leg with a bullet in Babol. Security forces reportedly prevented his admission to hospital and he ultimately died due to severe bleeding. He had a 9-year-old daughter.
